The sprinkles are cursed…
<Me> What a great start to the year!
<2020> Trump is impeached by the House, and then acquitted by the Senate.
<Me> I’m going to be more social, and order online only if I can’t find it local.
<2020> Coronavirus.
<Me> I’m going to back Warren for president!
<2020> Warren drops out of the race.
<Me> At least the federal government is doing something for small businesses and individuals...
<2020> Small business loans from the Feds are running out, because they’re going to folks who don’t actually need/deserve them them.
<Me> I’m so glad we have organizations like the WHO. They can help get scientific, accurate information to the public.
<2020> Trump suspends funding to the WHO due to their “mishandling” of the virus.
<Me> At least states are (mostly) locking down. Maybe we can get this more under control now that folks have seen how bad it can get.
<2020> The US becomes the country with the highest number of deaths reported from COVID-19. Texas and Florida start opening back up. Armed protesters show up in Michigan demanding an end to the lockdown.
<Me> I’m so glad I have space to garden at home. Being outdoors helps my mood, and nature is so peaceful compared to the rest of the world right now.
<2020> Murder hornets.
<Me> Wedding anniversary, Mother’s Day, and birthday month. So much cake, what a welcome respite!
<2020> Protests begin in Minnesota after the killing of George Floyd.
<Me> Wow. So many people coming together to protest peacefully. This is how it’s done!
<2020> Federal and local law enforcement use unreasonable force against protesters, including medics, children, and the elderly.
<Me> I’m so glad we have the CDC and Dr. Fauci. They’re injecting some sanity and reality into the pandemic discussion.
<2020> Trump orders hospitals to stop sending info to the CDC regarding COVID-19 cases and deaths.
<Me> It’s heartening to see people continuing to protest and speak out.
<2020> Federal agents in unmarked vehicles start kidnapping protesters off the street.
<Me> Well, at least it’s an election year.
<2020> Trump suggests delaying the election, and says that mail-in voting is unreliable. He cuts USPS funding and appoints one of his lackeys to run (ruin) the USPS.
<Me> A lot of Republicans are turning on Trump. Maybe there’s hope after all!
<2020> Devastating derecho storm over the Midwest decimates 10 million acres of crops and leaves hundreds of thousands without power. News outlets don’t report the storms and aftermath for almost a week.
<Me> There’s an incredible amount of information on how to vote, and vote early, without relying on the USPS.
<2020> Crushing, record-breaking heatwave hits CA.
<Me> At least we have fans, and AC in one room.
<2020> Freak lightning storms over CA cause wildfires, and firenados.
<Me> Michelle Obama’s DNC speech was ON POINT. What an incredible, inspiring woman!
<2020> More evidence surfaces around Trump’s ties to Russia, including a career spy working on his 2016 campaign committee. Also, rolling blackouts.
